HOW TO USE:

• Assess the Scene: Ensure the safety of yourself and the victim before approaching.
• Determine the Nature of the Emergency: Quickly assess if the situation involves trauma, severe bleeding, potential cardiac arrest, or a combination.
• Access the Kit: Open the XL Rugged Hard Case to access the necessary modules and equipment.
• Address Severe Bleeding (if present):
  • Locate the source of the bleeding.
  • Apply direct pressure to the wound using trauma dressings from the Bleed Control Module.
  • If bleeding is severe and from a limb, apply a tourniquet from the Bleed Control Module above the bleeding site, tightening until the bleeding stops.
  • Consider using hemostatic agents from the Bleed Control Module as directed.
  • Wear gloves from the Bleed Control Module to protect yourself from bloodborne pathogens.
• Assess for Cardiac Arrest (if the person is unresponsive and not breathing or only gasping):
  • Retrieve the Heartsine 360P AED from the kit.
  • Turn on the AED. It will provide voice prompts to guide you.
  • Expose the victim’s chest and apply the electrode pads as indicated on the pads and by the AED’s voice prompts.
  • Ensure no one is touching the victim while the AED analyzes the heart rhythm.
  • If the AED advises a shock, it will either deliver it automatically (HeartSine 360P is fully automatic) or instruct you to press the shock button (if it were a semi-automatic model).
  • Follow the AED’s prompts for CPR. The AED may guide you through CPR or advise when to resume CPR after a shock.
