Description
While traditionally called a Violin Maker’s Plane, this pocket-sized block plane will find many uses for any woodworker who appreciates exquisite tools for fine applications. The 101 Violin Maker’s Plane is Lie-Nielsen’s 2012 upgraded version of the old Stanley 101 block plane. Lie-Nielsen added a bronze body and cap, a cryo-treated A2 steel blade and a precision blade depth adjuster. It’s the perfect plane for fine detail work and it’s small enough to fit in your pocket.
The 1/8″ thick x 7/8″ wide iron is bedded at 18° and secured in milled grooves for total stability. Depth of cut is adjusted mechanically with stainless steel hardware. Bronze body is 1-3/16″ wide by 3-7/16″ long, with highly polished bronze cap. Weighs 1/2 lb.
