HOW TO USE:

1. Install the Temperature Sensor: Locate a suitable port on your Datsun Z engine’s oil system (typically a spare port or by replacing an existing plug with the correct thread size, which is 1/8 in. NPT for the included Speedhut sensor). Install the provided 2-wire temperature sensor securely.
2. Route the Wiring: Carefully route the 2-wire cable from the temperature sensor to the desired location of the gauge in your dashboard. Ensure the wiring is kept away from any moving parts or extreme heat sources.
3. Mount the Gauge: Choose a suitable location on your dashboard with a 2.062-inch (52mm) diameter opening. Insert the gauge into the opening from the front and secure it using the included gauge mounting ring from the back.
4. Connect the Power and Lighting Harness: Connect the 3 ft Power & Lighting Harness to the gauge. Typically, this involves connecting a power wire (often to a switched 12V source), a ground wire, and a lighting wire (often to the instrument panel lighting circuit for nighttime illumination). Refer to the Speedhut wiring diagram for specific color-coding and connections.
5. Connect the Temperature Sensor Wiring: Connect the two wires from the temperature sensor to the corresponding terminals on the back of the gauge, using the provided Temperature Gauge Wiring Harness.
6. Test the Gauge: Once all connections are made, turn on your vehicle’s ignition to power the gauge and observe the oil temperature reading. Ensure the gauge illuminates properly when the headlights are turned on.
