Leather Strop

With a 10″ x 1-7/8″ surface, this double-sided leather strop gives ample room for honing a final polish onto your cutting edges. The leather is glued down to both sides of a 3/4″ thick wooden block, providing a firm support for the leather so you can polish with less risk of rounding the tool’s edge. Turned wooden handle is 4-1/2″ long. Condition the leather with a few drops of oil and charge the strop withhoning compound.

To avoid cutting into the leather, be certain the cutting edge is the trailing edge as you pull a blade across a strop.
