Description

Spax Flat-Head Yellow Zinc Plated Screws

Square/phillips combination drive with unique serrated pilot threads to eliminate most pre-drilling!

Deep, sharp threads, thin shanks and visibly-superior finishing make these screws penetrate more easily than any others. Spax screws are extraordinarily strong, and their unique “toothed” pilot threads make them almost universally self-drilling. You can drive #10 x 3-1/2″ screws into unpiloted hard maple – normally an exercise in wasted screws – with no breakage. Their head design is the most convenient available: they feature a combination recess that accepts either phillips or square drive bits.

SPAX Multi-Purpose construction screws are a versatile multi-material fastener solution for a wide range of interior applications, including wood, concrete, masonry, sheet metal and plastic. These screws are made from old-rolled carbon steel wire, heat treated for strength and durability, and plated with yellow zinc finish to prevent red rust. Yellow zinc is tested and recognized for use in above ground contact pressure treated lumber for interior dry/damp general construction applications (e.g., AWPA UC1-UC2).

Drive Bits

Spax Unidrive Screws can be driven with either Philips or Square drive.

  • #6 screws use #1 square drive or Philips bits
  • #8 screws use #2 square drive or Philips bits
