U-Beaut Woodturners Waxtik Friction Wax 7oz.
This food-safe and non-toxic wax polish is designed for application directly on your lathe, producing a beautiful, hard shine. It can be used over most finishes for extra protection. To apply, work on the spinning piece with a clean, soft rag; the friction will melt the wax onto the wood.
For a satin finish, use heavy pressure, and for a more lustrous sheen, apply light pressure. You can apply multiple coats if needed. For a high shine, first apply shellac or spirit varnish, then follow with Waxtik.
Waxtik is compatible with Shellawax products and works well over EEE-Ultra Shine and most oil finishes, provided they are completely dry. It’s safe for all food implements like bowls and baby rattles, but may develop dull or white spots if wet, which can be easily repaired with Traditional Wax.
Finishing Tip: For the best results, sand your workpiece finely, starting with 180-grit up to 600-grit, or even up to 1200-grit for a brilliant effect. Huon Pine, Oak, and Elm respond exceptionally well to Waxtik without needing other finishes.
